Dovely Part Time & Full Time Preschool Teacher


Dovely is seeking a passionate and nurturing Preschool Teacher to join our Jamaica Plain center opening in late August/early September. The ideal candidate will bring warmth, creativity, and professionalism to their teaching practice while fostering the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual growth of preschool-aged children. Preschool Teachers at Dovely’s Jamaica Plain location will be responsible for the day-to-day preschool classroom management and operation. Teachers will report directly to the Center Director.

 

Job Type & Start Date

  • Job Type: Part Time (20 hours/week)
  • Location: In person, 440 Centre St, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130
  • Start Date: Late August /  Early September 2025

Qualifications

  • Deeply believes in and desires to further Dovely’s mission of increasing accessible childcare and growth potential jobs for refugees and the broader community.
  • Comfortable executing Dovely’s faith based curriculum 
  • Meet EEC qualifications for Preschool Teacher as described in Code of Massachusetts Regulations 606 section 7

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with faith-based values created by the Center Director.
  • Foster a warm, inclusive classroom environment where all children feel safe and valued.
  • Promote children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff grounded in respect and empathy.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Observe, assess, and document children’s progress and share insights with families.
  • Mentor and supervise classroom Assistant Teachers
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and community-building activities.
  • Comply with EEC (Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care) licensing regulations and center policies.
