I am a 39 year old female living in a 3.5 bedroom home in a quiet neighborhood in West Roxbury within three minutes walking distance of the commuter rail. I am looking for one housemate to share the space with me. My former housemate is still storing most of her things in the home, so only one bedroom is currently available, but a second room will likely open up by this spring, so in the event that someone wants to rent a bedroom and an office space that option will likely open up.
The common spaces are shared: a living room, kitchen, back den (unheated), one bathroom, unfinished basement with washer/dryer, front porch, back deck, and front and back yard. My former housemate’s three cats are currently living here, and I have a six-pound Yorkshire Terrier. I am open to pets, though my Yorkie does not get along with most dogs.
The rent for the room (and any additional rooms added in the future) would be $1,000 per month. The current lease goes to August. Utilities are shared and are not included in rent.
I’m a Catholic Christian but I’m open to living with a person of any faith, ethnic/cultural background, and gender identity, and this is an LGBTQ affirming space. I’m a former teacher transitioning to being a mental health counselor, so I am currently in graduate school and working full time (I graduate in May). I’m looking to live with someone easygoing, tidy, personable, and mature about open communication regarding common living arrangements (this is also how I try to live as a housemate as well) – preferably someone in my age range, but I’m open.
