Hello! Our 3rd roommate is moving out to get married, and we’re searching for someone else to move in in her place!
About the apartment:
We live on the 2nd floor of a 3 unit building located in the Oak Square neighborhood in Brighton. It’s a short walk to the 57 and 64 buses, and convenient to the Boston College stop on the Green line or to BC itself. We also have abundant street parking that isn’t restricted by resident permits, plus two off-street parking spots that we share. There are lots of restaurants, shops, and a couple of grocery stores located within a 1.5 mile radius, and we have good access to the Charles river and associated trails for biking, running, walking, etc.
The apartment is 3 bedrooms/1 bathroom, has a spacious kitchen and two big living rooms/common areas. We have tons of windows and natural light, as well as an outdoor porch space. We also have a backyard space that we share with the other two units in our building. We don’t have in-unit laundry, but there is a clean and reliable laundromat that is easily walkable from the apartment.
Our total rent is $3,000 per month. Your share of rent would be $1,000 each month, and we split utilities evenly between us. In the spring/fall that’s about $70 per person, and about $130 per person in the winter/summer with heating/cooling costs.
The September 1st move-in date can be negotiated to mid-August, as our current 3rd roommate is getting married in early August.
About the room:
The available room is the second largest in the unit. It’s on the back side of the house so it’s pretty quiet, and gets lots of natural light through large windows.
About us:
We’re a household of friends in our early-mid 20s 🙂 Emma teaches elementary school special education, and Miryam works as a BT, a lab assistant, and a pilates instructor. When we’re both home, we enjoy hanging out around the apartment together and have a goal of having a shared dinner once or twice a month. We like to read, watch movies, do puzzles and crafts, and check out new restaurants together.
We both tend to leave the house for work by 7:30AM, and the apartment tends to quiet down for the evening around 9:30PM. We share household chores, enjoy living in a clean environment, and expect the common areas to be kept pretty tidy. We both value having a space that feels like a retreat, and like to keep things fairly quiet in the evenings on weekdays.
However, we love to host in the afternoons or on the weekends! We have a friend or two over fairly often. At least once a month we have some kind of larger gathering at our apartment, though we try to be conscientious of each other’s time and need for rest/retreat.
About you:
We’re looking to live with another woman in her 20s. Our apartment would be ideal for a grad student at BC or a young professional who works from home and/or off the nearby bus routes and/or commutes with a car. We want a roommate who is tidy, conscientious, and interested in being friendly/living in community. Keeping a somewhat similar work/sleep schedule is a plus! We both attend a local church regularly and would love to live with another Christian, though that’s not a dealbreaker.
